Lucky for us, Spire is placed at the epicenter of life and extraordinary experiences, including Seattle’s favorite Saturday Public Market, a new Pike Place Express Farmers Market and more foodie adventures in the SLU neighborhood and beyond this summer.
The South Lake Union Saturday Market has returned for its 7th season, open from 11am to 4pm every Saturday next door to Denny Park in the heart of South Lake Union neighborhood featuring over 75 booths from Makers, food purveyors and food trucks. This vibrant weekly farmers’ market features a variety of stalls for fresh produce, street food and local artisans. We can smell the Saturday market vibes already!
Pike Place is now closer to home than ever before with the newly launched Pike Place Express Farmers Market running every Thursday through September at Van Vorst Plaza (426 Terry Avenue N) in South Lake Union. Pike Place Express Farmers Markets are a great way to enjoy fresh produce, flowers, and delicious hot lunches while supporting Seattle’s best local producers and artisans.
The South Lake Union Block Party, now in its 16th year, happens on August 5th and is the largest and longest running festival focused on celebrating our neighborhood with a beer garden, local food trucks, a main stage featuring Northwest Artists and much more.
Approximately 3 minutes away via Denny Way is Seattle Center, where the action continues throughout summer with these fun festivals:
Day In Day Out. This music festival at Fisher Pavilion on August 13-14th offers music-lovers a highly curated mix-tape-inspired experience to close out the summer and will feature some of Seattle’s most hype-worthy food trucks, a spacious indoor-outdoor beer garden, and unique VIP experiences all located in the heart of Seattle Center.
BrasilFest. Seattle Center Festál presents BrasilFest on August 21st from 12-7pm. In partnership with Brazil Center and Show Brazil Productions, BrasilFest invites the broader community to enjoy capoeira, food, music, dance, and more.
Scooped Ice Cream Festival. Get ready to chill in ice cream paradise. Grab your friends and family and chill at Seattle’s only all-you-can-eat ice cream festival on August 27th. While you enjoy your ice cream, dance to DJs throughout the day, start a cornhole competition with friends or hang in the Ice Cream Lounge where you can enjoy drinks created by our top-tier mixologists.
Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival. Head to the Seattle Center on September 11th for a Hawaiian Cultural Festival. Cultivating passion and appreciation for Hawaiian culture with BBQ, poke, hands-on workshops, island music, dance and a marketplace.
Sea Mar Fiestas Patrias. Throughout this two-day event at Seattle Center on September 17-18, attendees can enjoy delicious traditional Latin American food and cooking demonstrations, live music, traditional folk-dance performances, art exhibitions representing Latino culture, free health screenings, children’s activities and more.
The Italian Festival. Offering a spotlight on this inventive nation with food and wine, music and musings–and spirit that is uniquely Italian on September 24-25th, this festival features art, music, food, dance and participatory activities for the entire family. Highlights include cooking demos, a classic car show, a dog show, and the world-famous “Grape Stomp”.
