Designed to embrace the juxtaposition of natural beauty and technology, Spire is a collection of 343 one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom condominiums in the heart of Downtown Seattle offering the best selection of endless views. “Facing Northwest offers breathtaking views of the Sound, the Olympics and sunsets while northeast views feature a peaceful Lake Union, city lights and the Cascades. Southwest boasts great energy of the city, West Seattle and Elliott Bay views with plenty of sunlight. North is the perfect combo of the Space Needle, South Lake Union and Mt. Baker,” says Derek Koch, Spire Sales Associate.
Derek brings 7 years of real estate experience to the Spire team, with 5 of those years dedicated to new home sales. A few of Derek’s career highlights include the Residential Brokerage Division Deal of the Year Sales & Rental Award as well as a Pinnacle Award Winner with The AC Team 2016, 2017, and 2018 in New York City. When joining the Polaris Pacific team to sell Spire became an opportunity, without hesitation – Derek signed up.
“I couldn’t be more excited to go to work every day; working at Spire is a dream.”
Born and raised with his identical twin in Ohio, Derek lived in Manhattan for over 15 years and now calls Seattle home. In his spare time, you’ll find Derek with his family, swimming, running and biking. Not your average biker, he enjoys rides at Black Diamond, Maple Valley, and Carnation. Every athlete fuels up. Some of his favorite nearby restaurants to indulge include Umi Sake House, Roquette, and Top Pot – because who doesn’t love Top Pot’s fresh take on the old “coffee and doughnuts” routine?
Spire celebrates intelligent design, connectivity and convenience for an effortless and meaningful life. For an inside perspective, we asked Derek to share his thoughts on the building design including his favorite views and design features.
Outside, Spire’s striking architecture enhances the Seattle skyline while offering a dynamic and welcoming pedestrian environment at the building’s base.
“From an architectural standpoint, I think the two giant white rectangles on both sides of the building is both striking and cutting-edge giving Spire a real skyline identity. The bold design maximizes breathtaking, unobstructed views of the waterfront, skyline and beyond.”
Inside, the condominium residences celebrate iconic views of the skyline and Seattle waterfront.
“Each corner of the building was carefully constructed, each giving its own wow factor from wall-to-wall windows, expansive floor plans, and incredible views. Designed to emphasize the connection to the outdoors, the residences feature nature-inspired materials and finishes that offer a peaceful retreat from the bustle of everyday living.”
Spire’s thoughtful amenities are designed to foster community, collaboration and wellness. Located across several levels, these stylish spaces enhance and elevate everyday living. Derek shares one of his favorite spots at Spire, “The main lobby is also one of my favorite spots at Spire. It exudes elegance and sophistication instantly showcasing how the rest of the building will be viewed. Local artist, Sam Stubblefield’s work is new, inspiring, clean and interesting – all of which fit well in a building like Spire. The two complement each other well.”
The carefully curated suite of amenities focuses on entertainment, health and wellness, including an automated parking system and rooftop Inspire Fitness gym. Being a triathlete, fitness is everything to Derek, “I think the idea of being at the top of a building and running for 45 minutes on a cutting-edge treadmill with views of the Olympics and Cascades is hands down unmatched. I could stay up there forever.”
