An Autumn Agenda in Seattle

Experience life on the edge of everything. Situated at the nexus of local culture, world-class architecture, culinary gems, greenspaces, and the waterfront, Spire is conveniently located where Belltown, South Lake Union and Denny Triangle meet. Fall for the autumn season as the days get shorter and the air gets crisper in Seattle. There’s something about the light this time of year that makes golden hour even more vibrant as it reflects off our shining cityscape. Peruse our list of things to do around Seattle and add them to your autumn agenda.

The Cider Summit Seattle returns to South Lake Union on September 9 and 10 featuring 50 cideries and more than 150 different sips. Explore the SLU neighborhood after the Cider Summit for more delicious ciders. Tapster Seattle features a nice selection of ciders among its more than two-dozen self-serve taps. Teku Tavern is mostly beer focused, but you can find Washington-based ciders from Yonder, Tieton, and Seattle Cider on tap, plus a number of choices in its bottle section. Mix in some mini golf with cider offerings at FlatStick Pub — their tap list currently has selections from One Tree, Greenwood Cider, and Channel Marker. The fun starts ~0.9 miles from Spire.

The Boats Afloat Show arrives at Seattle’s South Lake Union September 15-18, spotlighting a world-class fleet of power and sailing yachts, quality shoreside exhibitors and a full line-up of activities. Attractions include a collection of classic boats, the 90-foot Olympic Star serving up beverages and BBQ selections along with a taco bar and wok station, a live jazz stage and cooking demonstrations by Trinity Mack, Culinary Director for Waterways Cruises and Events and Lakeside at South Lake Union, ~1.1 miles from Spire.

Catch local food trucks, craft breweries and live entertainment all day long on October 1. Mobile Food Rodeo hosts Seattle’s favorite curbside Oktoberfest food truck/beerfest in South Lake Union at the 4th Annual Trucktoberfest Beer Festival, ~0.3 miles from Spire.

Grab and friend and get your art fix in Belltown. Every month on the second Friday, the community is welcomed into galleries, shops, and art studios to enjoy exhibits and meet Seattle-based artists during the Belltown Art Walk, coming up on October 14 and November 11, ~0.6 miles from Spire.

Support the Seattle Kraken or catch a concert at the Climate Pledge Arena, where an iconic roof stands nobly against the Olympic Mountains, less than a mile from Spire. Cheer on the Seattle Kraken at their first home game on October 15 as they take on the Vegas Golden Knights. Get your groove on as Michael Buble: Higher comes to Seattle on September 28. The list also includes Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast World Tour 2022 on September 29, The Black Keys: Dropout Boogie Tour on October 2, Zac Brown Band on October 20, Lizzo: The Special Tour on November 9 and the line-up continues…~0.6 miles from Spire.

The Seattle Center is an active civic, arts and family gathering place in the core of our region. Get stomping at The Tutta Bella Grape Stomp at the Italian Festival on September 24-25. The objective of each three-person team is to crush the most juice from 20 pounds of grapes in four minutes. The winning team gets great prizes! The 18th Annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival is also coming September 30-October 1, where 80+ pumpkin beers (plus a couple surprises) from near and far will be poured, including 20 or so from Elysian Brewing’s pumpkin-crazed brewers, ~0.6 miles from Spire.

Sip on a creative cocktail and orbit a while at Loupe Lounge at our neighboring Space Needle. Perched 500 feet above the city with unmatched views, The Loupe Lounge serves up showstopping mixology paired with tastes of the Pacific Northwest. The Loupe Lounge is a 21+ experience open fall, winter, and spring ~0.3 miles from Spire.

Visit a museum like no other on earth. Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP), located next to Seattle’s historic Space Needle, houses some of the world’s most legendary pop culture artifacts. Catch Videodrome on October 15 and Pacific Rim on November 18 at Campout Cinemas and after-hours screenings in MoPOP’s Sky Church. Get cozy, grab a drink, and watch a film with friends at this immersive, 21+ experience. Want to stay cozy at home? Join a monthly Virtual Watchalongs where everyone will queue up their own copy of the film and press play together as they enjoy live chat, special guests, MoPOP experts, and more, ~0.3 miles from Spire.

Explore a garden full of glasswork in lieu of flowers bursting with color year-round. The Chihuly Glass art exhibit is mostly indoors and is open year-round. Be amazed by the glass art at Chihuly Gardens and Glass, located at the base of the Space Needle on the grounds of the Seattle Center. The glass art is so inspiring that we’ve incorporated Chihuly’s work in the design of Spire’s own Gallery on Level 40. Enjoy it all ~0.3 miles from Spire.

Hop on the Wings over Washington and ride in the state-of-the-art “flying theater” that will transport you on an aerial adventure above one of America’s most scenic and beautiful states, Washington. Once you are strapped into your theater seat, you will experience an amazing journey as a “spirit eagle” sweeps you upward into flight across the state. You will see amazing sights and experience the smells of Washington as you dive down the seaside cliffs through the morning mists of the Olympic National Forest and Mt. Rainier to the San Juan Islands and on to the spectacular beauty of the Cascades and the awe-inspiring Snoqualmie Falls to the wild whitewater of the Tieton River and the kaleidoscopic wonder of the Walla Walla Valley Balloon Stampede then back to Elliot Bay to bank around the Seattle Great Wheel as a sensational fireworks display begins and then slowly landing back to where the journey all began, ~1.2 miles from Spire.

Make it a market day. Close to home, Pike Place Market is the cornerstone of the Seattle autumn market experience. It’s Seattle’s largest incubator of small, independent businesses and a sprawling neighborhood comprised of 220+ independently owned shops and restaurants, 150+ craftspeople, 70+ farmers, and 60+ permitted buskers. Find all your fall favorites all season long including a pumpkin spice or apple cinnamon classic. On Thursdays, Pike Place pops-up in Van Vorst Courtyard even closer to home. It’s everything you love about the Pike Place Public Market, right in South Lake Union. And don’t forget Seattle’s favorite weekly Saturday street market is offered seasonally through October 1 between 11am to 4pm in South Lake Union, located on 9th Ave. N. next to the South Lake Union Discovery Center and Denny Park, ~0.6 miles from Spire.
