Seattle Holiday Season

The holiday season in Seattle is magical, and Spire offers a unique opportunity to live in the center of the excitement. Embrace the spirit with boat parades, bright twinkling lights, shopping, shows, live music and plenty of opportunities to sip your warm holiday beverages with the people you love.

As November Ends Cozy Celebrations Begin

Get this year’s Thanksgiving meal to-go from Sea Creatures at Whillmott’s Ghost, located in The Spheres. Or book in advance for a 3-course Thanksgiving meal at The George at The Fairmont in downtown Seattle, offered from 1-8pm with Shared Autumn Salad for the Table, Carrot and Pumpkin Soup, Citrus Brined Turkey and finished with Pumpkin Spiced Cake. And don’t forget a dog-friendly pie for your pooch from The Seattle Barkery, a South Lake Union favorite that delivers all over King County.

Stroll through the twinkly lights during Lights Across Downtown Seattle from November 17-January 8 in Belltown. DSA is raising thousands of holiday lights in locations across downtown, including along Bell Street and First Avenue, Pioneer Square and Westlake Park.

The Thanksgiving holiday is the perfect excuse to get out the rolling pins and pie pans. Partake in the Thanksgiving Pie Prep Make and Take at Hot Stove Society in South Lake Union on November 19 and go home with two pies that are just a couple of easy steps away from being ready to hit your Thanksgiving table at Spire.

Enjoy a magical night in the heart of downtown Seattle during the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration at Westlake Park on November 25.

Say “cheers” to the holiday season.  Rob Roy in Belltown transforms their space into an over-the-top Christmas wonderland with kitsch-tastic cocktails into a popular Miracle on 2nd pop-up from November 25-December 25.

Experience a world of sparkling lights, amusements and spirited entertainment at Seattle Center Winterfest from November 25-December 31. Throughout the five weeks of Winterfest, you’ll enjoy performances, a Winter Train & Village, ice sculpting and an annual campus light display.

Enjoy hundreds of shimmery white lights during the Christmas Ship Festival from November 25-December 23. The Spirit of Seattle sails to different Puget Sound waterfront communities – around 40 in all. Choirs on board the Christmas Ship perform for guests and to communities gathered on shore.

‘Make it a Market’ kind of holiday at the 27th Annual Magic in the Market on November 26. You’ll find holiday spirit across all 9-acres of Pike Place Public Market for the whole family to experience the magic; meet Santa, listen to caroling, sip some eggnog, shop for loved ones, all leading up to the famous Market lighting ceremony at 5pm.

Capture the perfect selfie under larger-than-life light sculptures in Westlake Park, and enjoy family-friendly activities at Westlake and Occidental Square every weekend during Holiday Lights & Delights from November 26-January 8. Mark your calendars for Holiday Concerts on Fridays in Westlake Park with live music from local artists surrounded by sparkling lights, featuring some of your favorite holiday tunes.

Kicking off the Winter Wonder this December

Shop from a wide variety of hand-crafted goods including clothing, jewelry, bags, wallets, accessories, housewares, furniture, art, and more at the Urban Craft Uprising Winter Show  on December 2-4. UCU is Seattle’s favorite craft show and held in the heart of downtown Seattle, at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.

Find your way to Unexpected Productions Market Theater for some yuletide fun for the whole family during Fa la la la la, ha ha ha ha: A Holiday Musical Extravaganza! on December 3 at Pike Place Market. This holiday treat begins with a festive sing-along and ends with a movie musical.

Capture images of all the holiday lighting and decorations in downtown Seattle during the Photowalk: Holiday Lights on December 4. Start at Westlake Park, right across the street from the big Christmas Tree (and Westlake Center), and then work your way to Pike Place Market.

Swing by 9th & Thomas in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood to shop holiday gifts and enjoy winter treats with music by DJ Hershe at the first ever 9T Holiday Market on December 7.

Didn’t get enough Urban Craft Uprising at the regular Winter Show? You’ll get a second chance to shop as they return to South Lake Union outside the Nitro Building on December 8-9 for the SLU Winter Market to showcase a couple dozen more vendors.

Hey Santa! We’re looking at you. Dress up and join thousands painting the town red and white parading through the downtown Seattle area on December 10 during Seattle SantaCon.

Step out onto the MarketFront Pavilion for handmade holiday shopping during the Holiday Night Market at Pike Place Market on December 15 for a special evening as the open-air pavilion turns into a winter wonderland filled with hand-made gifts, food and music.

Get out on the water and fire up the mains during the Seattle Christmas Boat Parade on December 17. This boating event for a cause keeps the Pacific Northwest maritime community and industry united, and the holiday tradition of active cruising alive on Lake Union.

Celebrate winter solstice as you take a luminary forest walk. Create your own holiday swag and enjoy a festive beverage during the Winter Solstice Walk on December 17-18 at the Washington Park Arboretum.

Ring in 2023 in style on the water as the Spirit of 76 Yacht cruises the Harbor for a NYE Boat Party, centers itself front and center for a panoramic view of the NYE Fireworks show at Seattle’s Space Needle once the clock hits 12.

Warm up with seasonal cocktails. Head to Linda’s Tavern in Capitol Hill for your Spiked Apple Cider from their new fall cocktail menu. Fingers crossed, Artusi aperitivo bar in Capitol Hill decides to shake up the traditional eggnog again with their version, which contains chili chai-infused cognac, nocino, sugar, eggs, cream, and milk, available in a 16 oz bottle (four servings) or in a kit with Christmas Eve cookies and ice cream. Watch their Instagram for the best twists on winter cocktails.

Lace up your skates and glide across the ice where our Seattle Kraken practice. Bring your family and friends and join fellow Kraken fans and Seattleites alike for public skate sessions over lunch hours, weekends, and evenings at the Kraken Community Ice Plex. Plan ahead and catch a Seattle Kraken practice before or after your skate session.
